A TV Saved from the Landfill

Just finished repairing a Samsung 2280HD. As usual, something fails around two months after the warranty expires. In this case, the backlight went out. It was the usual two seconds on and then off. After opening it, the cause was obvious: failed, bloated capacitors. Why do companies insist on using crappy capacitors. In my case, they were some of the infamous CapXon. I replaced them with some nice Panasonic FM/FC capacitors. The TV was back and brighter than before.

Only capacitor I didn't change was the big one. From from I've read, that one can be left alone.
